Chris grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, a city that is rich in jazz and blues heritage. He began playing classical piano at the age of seven, and progressed to playing the organ at his local church by the age of 10. In his teenage years, Chris was introduced to jazz and joined his high school jazz band. In his junior year, he received the award for "Best Soloist" at a local High School Jazz Band Competition, and also received the "Louie Armstrong Jazz Award" his senior year.
Chris began studying jazz performance at the University of Denver in 2006. He studied under world renowned pianist Eric Gunnison for four years. He has composed numerous original songs that he has been performing across the entire Colorado area for the past twelve years.
Over the past few years, Chris has emerged as one of the premier keyboard players in all of Colorado. He has crafted his own voice with organic sounds, soulful taste, and an original style that can’t be found anywhere else. He can be seen gigging with the best funk, rock, and jazz bands across the entire Colorado area.
Chris has shared the stage with: Wé McDonald (The Voice), legendary jazz & blues vocalist Hazel Miller, Adam Dietch (Lettuce, Break Science), Jeremy Salken (Big Gigantic), Steveland Swatkins (Allen Stone Band), Shane Endsley (Kneebody), Dan Schwindt (Kyle Hollingsworth Band), Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident). He has also played along side Colorado jazz legends such as: Ron Miles, Dave Devine, Bijoux Barbosa, Dave Randon, Mike Marlier, Lynn Baker, Ken Walker, Paul Romaine, Donna Wickham, Gabriel Mervine, Charles Parker Mertins, Venus Cruz, and countless others including second SynthLord and teenage phenom Jaden Carlson.
Chris is currently playing with: The Tomorrow People, Jacob Larson Band, Fluxus, Boom Town, Diamond Empire Band, while also running his own piano trio performing his original compositions.
